The Broadway cast recording for Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Pirates of Penzance" was released on Elektra Records in 1981. Produced by Joseph Papp and the Public Theater, the cast featured Kevin Kline as The Pirate King, Linda Ronstadt as Mabel, Rex Smith as Frederic, Patricia Routledge as Ruth, George Rose as the Major-General, and Tony Azito as the Sergeant of Police.
